A Letter from the President
I would like to personally welcome you to our website. As you will see, we offer most all of the services offered at other financial institutions at a price you can afford. That's because we are a not-for-profit financial institution owned by people, just like you, in our area. It makes a big difference when our mission is driven by working people. We offer services to anyone that lives, works, worships or attends school in Fairfield County, CT regardless of their financial status. We are proud to bring services to low income and immigrant members of our community and to partner with many organizations that serve them.
All of our full time staff are Credit Union Certified Financial Counselors and can to help our members find financial success. More than half of staff speak Spanish and 60% are immigrants so we represent the members we serve.
In 2018, we became the first Juntos Avanzamos credit union in Connecticut because we are Hispanic ready and friendly. We also earned the Credit Union Times Trailblazer Award for Outstanding Service to the Underserved in 2018. We most recently won the national credit union Louise Herring Philosophy in Action Award for serving members with our ITIN (taxpayer ID) program.
Our board of directors are volunteers. They are not chosen by how much money they have or how much they invested at Members Credit Union. They serve on the board because they have passion for improving the lives of our members. These volunteers are elected by our members. If you are interested in serving, please email or call me today.
