Tattar Scholarship
Members Credit Union is proud to support the educational journey of our student members through the Tattar Scholarship. Each year, we award five deserving members a $500 scholarship to help cover their education costs.
Eligibility Requirements:
You’re a member of Members Credit Union or eligible to join (anyone who lives, works, studies, or worships in Fairfield County, CT can become a member with a $5 deposit)
You’re a full-time student, enrolled in or accepted to a college or undergraduate program
You have a GPA of 3.0 or higher
You can demonstrate financial need
How to Apply:
Request your application by emailing us at dreamsprosper@memberscu.coop
Write a typed, double-spaced essay (you’ll choose from two topics provided in the application)
Include an official high school or college transcript
Attach any additional information you’d like the committee to consider
Email your completed application and materials to klchartier@memberscu.coop by Monday, May 19, 2025
(Please write “Scholarship Application” in the subject line)
Winners will be notified on Monday, May 30, 2025.
Applications will be reviewed by our Scholarship Committee based on your essay, grades, financial need, extracurricular involvement, length of credit union membership, and any special circumstances.

Sergio M.
A Stamford High School graduate and UConn Computer Science & Engineering major, Sergio is a first-generation college student committed to graduating debt-free. A long-time Members Credit Union member, he’s funded his education through scholarships, fellowships, and part-time work — all while mentoring others and building real-world experience.
The Tattar Scholarship helps him stay on track, focused, and loan-free as he pursues a future grounded in purpose and opportunity.
Adrian M.
A 2024 graduate of Greenwich High School, AVID Student, and Member since 2007 at Members Credit Union, Adrian is now studying Chemistry on the pre-med track at Johns Hopkins University, where he maintains a 4.0 GPA. Passionate about serving underserved communities, Adrian works as a medical assistant, certified Spanish interpreter, and patient advocate, helping bridge language and care gaps in Baltimore.
The Tattar Scholarship has helped him focus on his studies and service work without the burden of financial stress, bringing him one step closer to his dream of becoming a socially conscious physician.
Alexandra L.
A 2025 graduate of Stamford High School, Alexandra recently became a proud member of Members Credit Union — continuing a family tradition of membership. This fall, she’ll begin her college journey at SUNY Oneonta, where she plans to major in Criminal Justice.
Alexandra is passionate about public safety, forensic science, and justice reform. An active volunteer, athlete, and student leader, she’s excited to gain hands-on experience through internships and build a meaningful career in criminal justice.
The Tattar Scholarship helps reduce financial stress and gives her the flexibility to pursue internships and career-building opportunities that will shape her future in criminal justice.
Sienna S.
A 2025 graduate of Westhill High School, Sienna became a Members Credit Union member in April 2025 and is heading to the University of Connecticut to major in Neurobiology & Physiology.
Sienna is deeply motivated by her family’s experience with neurological disorders and aspires to become a neurologist. She’s been recognized as an AP Scholar with Distinction and has actively led youth initiatives focused on mental health, wellness, and equity through organizations like the Mayor’s Youth Leadership Council and The Rowan Center.
The Tattar Scholarship helps bridge a significant financial gap, allowing Sienna to fully engage in campus life, research opportunities, and professional STEM communities — empowering her to make a lasting impact in healthcare and beyond.
Jasmine C.
Jasmine is an AVID student and consistent Honor Roll achiever at Greenwich High School. She has been recognized with the AVID Ally Award for her leadership and positive influence among peers. Beyond academics, Jasmine is actively involved in community groups like the Greenwich Alliance for Education and the Hispanic Association Club.
She has gained valuable experience working as an after-school counselor and camp counselor, demonstrating responsibility and a passion for helping others.
Accepted to the University of Connecticut – Stamford, she plans to major in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences. This scholarship will help Jasmine focus fully on her studies and achieve her goal of being the first in her family to earn a bachelor’s degree.
