Tattar Scholarship

Members Credit Union is proud to support the educational journey of our student members through the Tattar Scholarship Program. Each year, we award up to five $500 scholarships to deserving student members to help offset education expenses. This scholarship recognizes academic achievement, leadership, and community involvement while supporting students as they pursue their educational goals.

Our 2026 scholarship application period is now closed. We encourage eligible students to apply next year.

Eligibility Requirements:

To apply, you must:

  • Be a Members Credit Union member or eligible to join
    (Anyone who lives, works, studies, or worships in Fairfield County, CT can join with a $5 deposit.)

  • Be a full-time student enrolled in or accepted to a college or undergraduate program

  • Have a GPA of 3.0 or higher

  • Demonstrate financial need

How to Apply:

To request an application, email us at dreamsprosper@memberscu.coop

Your application must include:

  • A typed, double-spaced essay (choose from two topics provided in the application)

  • An official high school or college transcript

  • Any additional supporting materials you would like the committee to consider

Once completed, email your application to: dreamsprosper@memberscu.coop (Please include “Scholarship Application” in the subject line.)

Applications will be reviewed by our Scholarship Committee based on your essay, grades, financial need, extracurricular involvement, length of credit union membership, and any special circumstances.

Bradley W.

Bradley W. is a graduate of Greenwich High School who will attend the University of Miami to study Accounting and Finance. A dedicated student-athlete, he balanced academic excellence with varsity baseball and golf while serving as Treasurer for Gains for Guyana and volunteering with RAMP America, demonstrating a strong commitment to leadership and community service.

A member of a long-standing Members Credit Union family, Bradley hopes to become a CPA and help others make informed financial decisions. The Tattar Scholarship will help support his college journey, easing the financial burden on his family as he pursues his goals.

Adrian M.

A 2024 graduate of Greenwich High School, AVID Student, and Member since 2007 at Members Credit Union, Adrian is now studying Chemistry on the pre-med track at Johns Hopkins University, where he maintains a 4.0 GPA. Passionate about serving underserved communities, Adrian works as a medical assistant, certified Spanish interpreter, and patient advocate, helping bridge language and care gaps in Baltimore.

The Tattar Scholarship has helped him focus on his studies and service work without the burden of financial stress, bringing him one step closer to his dream of becoming a socially conscious physician.

Morgan P.

Morgan P. is entering her third year at Quinnipiac University, pursuing her dream of becoming an elementary school teacher. A former AVID student at Greenwich High School, she is dedicated to creating classrooms where every child feels supported, valued, and empowered to succeed. While balancing her college studies and a part-time job to help fund her education, Morgan also gives back to her community as a Trinity Church Youth Group Leader and Sunday School teacher, where she mentors and inspires young students.

For Morgan, teaching is about more than academics—it’s about building confidence, compassion, and lifelong potential during a child’s most formative years. The Tattar Scholarship helps ease the financial burden of college, allowing her to stay focused on her studies and future in education.

Michael F.

Michael F. is a 2026 AVID graduate of Greenwich High School who will be pursuing a degree in Computer Science and Engineering at Sacred Heart University. He is passionate about using technology to solve problems and build a strong foundation for his future career in the field. During high school, Michael was actively involved in his community, volunteering as a classroom assistant with the Horizons Brunswick Enrichment Program and supporting local environmental efforts through Greenwich Green & Clean. His commitment to service reflects his belief in giving back while growing academically and personally.

The Tattar Scholarship will help ease the financial challenges of college, allowing Michael to focus more fully on his studies, explore internships and research opportunities, and engage in campus life without the added stress of financial burden.

Latanielle A.

Latanielle is a long-time member of our credit union. She is currently studying Psychology at Bowie State University, where she was named to the Spring 2026 Dean’s List. She is passionate about community service and building a future career focused on supporting children’s mental health and emotional well-being. She has demonstrated strong leadership and service through involvement in the Caribbean Students Association, Bethel Campus Fellowship, and co-founding the Full Court Peace Club, where she helped lead a service project in Kingston, Jamaica.

Latanielle has also worked as a camp counselor, kids coach, retail associate, and youth ministry volunteer, while staying active in sports and community activities. The Tattar Scholarship helps reduce financial barriers so she can focus on her studies, gain hands-on experience, and continue working toward her goal of supporting children and families through psychology.
